KEYNOTE TWO:

The world is in transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0.  Both industrial revolusions have very different emphases. The former aims at manufacturing and is technical-centric, with an emphasis on skills such as data analytics and big data, programming and robotics. The latter however is human centric. It encompasses more than manufacturing and prioritises human creativity, ethical values, resilience and sustainable development. However, there seems to be  skill gaps in industry 5.0. Consequently, institutions globally need to rethink the purpose of HE and provide sufficent support for students to develop skills and componentises needed for Industry 5.0.
